Maxwell is Not Fit To Play Test Cricket For Australia:-
Meanwhile, Australia’s great captain Ricky Ponting believes that all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is not fit to play Test cricket for Australia.

Maxwell was part of Australia’s 2023 ODI World Cup-winning squad but was not selected for the Test series against Pakistan.
Maxwell is important for Australia, as he recently gave his team a record sixth ODI World Cup title by defeating India in the final.
Not Selected in The Team For The Three-Match Test Series:-
Despite his excellent performance in the World Cup, he was not selected in the team for the three-match Test series against Pakistan at home. Maxwell last played a Test for Australia in 2017.
Speaking on a show, Ponting said that Maxwell is not fit to play Test for Australia because he has not scored a lot of runs in the first class.
Maxwell has played only seven Test matches for Australia, in which he has scored 339 runs at an average of 26.08, and his highest score during this period has been 104 runs.
Ponting further said, “Nobody deserves a chance unless you have a truckload of first-class runs behind you. he’s not worth it. But if he gets a chance to go back and score some first-class runs, he can make a tremendous comeback.”
The chances Of Getting A Place On The Team Are Not High:-
Interestingly, Maxwell has not given up his Test career yet. Speaking to SEN, Maxwell stressed the fact that his chances of getting a spot in this Australian Test team are not high given that they are the World Test champions.
Glenn said, “I understand the circumstances of the current side very well. They are playing really good cricket, they are World Test champions.
