Lisa Keightley has decided to step down from her role as England’s head coach and the tour of India will be her last series, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Tuesday (August 9).
Keightley, who has played 92 matches for Australia, has informed the ECB that she will not seek an extension to her current contract.

The official spokesperson said both sides reached a decision before the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022.
The release further said that both the ECB and Keightley felt that this decision would give the next coach ample time with the team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup to be played in South Africa in February next year.
“We are incredibly grateful for Lisa’s commitment and passion in the role over the past two and a half years.
England Women’s Director of Cricket Jonathan Finch said: “We’ve seen increased competition for places over the past 12 months and the team Lisa has left is an exciting mix of youth and experience.
“Leading an international team is challenging at the best of times. This is more challenging during a pandemic.
Lisa has been able to continue the development of the team, which is the most difficult period we have faced off the field.
The 50-year-old Keightley took charge of the team in January 2020 and led England to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2020 and the final of the Cricket World Cup 2022.
Interim CEO, Claire Connor, also congratulated Keightley on his tenure with England and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
“I want to extend my sincere thanks to all of Lisa’s efforts over the past two and a half years. Lisa was always a fierce opponent when she represented Australia.

She brought the same pride, passion, and will to win in everything she did with the England women’s team,” Connor said.
“The team has greatly enjoyed working with him. And I know they will join me in wishing him all the best for his next challenge.”
England will face England in a six-match limited overs series starting 10 September with three T20Is.
