Mohammad Nabi was Dropped From Afghanistan Squad For UAE T20Is

Mohammad Nabi was dropped from the Afghanistan squad for the UAE T20Is. Rashid Khan will lead an 18-member Afghanistan squad for the three-match T20I series against UAE.

Rahmat Shah – who has been a regular in the ODI squad – has been included in the squad along with Zaheer Khan, with the possibility of making his T20I debut.

Afsar Zazai, Noor Ahmed, and Nijat Masood, each of whom have played under five T20Is. Return as does Karim Janat, who last played in the Asia Cup.

Reserve players included for T20 World Cup:-

Sharafuddin Ashraf, who was among the reserve players for the T20 World Cup, has also been included in the squad.

Apart from Nabi, the omissions include T20 globetrotters Qais Ahmed, Darvesh Rasooli, Mohammad Saleem and Usman Ghani. Others including Rashid, Qais, and Farooqui will return to the international set-up after featuring in franchise leagues around the world.

All matches will be playing in Abu Dhabi:-

The three T20 International series, part of a five-year deal between the Emirates Cricket Board and the Afghanistan Cricket Board, begins on Thursday and all matches will be played in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement states that the UAE board will provide logistical and infrastructure support, including hosting Afghanistan’s “home” matches.
