Sandeep Lamichhane Joins Nepal in UAE As Replacement For Injured Mousom Dhakal. The player had to seek court approval to be able to travel abroad as he was out on bail in an alleged sexual assault case.

Nepal is playing Papua New Guinea (PNG) and hosts UAE in this leg of the series and will be trying to find ways to bring Lamichhane in.

Lamichhane is facing charges of sexually assaulting another man and is currently out on bail.

His bail conditions did not allow him to travel outside Nepal, but Lamichhane approached Nepal’s Supreme Court and was granted permission to travel earlier this week.

At that stage, it only remained for the ICC to approve his inclusion in the team. His participation in that series did not come without objection.

Refused to shake hands with Lamichhane:-

Both opposition teams refused to shake hands with Lamichhane after the games, and their boards also issued statements condemning the gender-based violence ahead of the series.

Nepal is placed sixth in the seven-team CWC League 2. Lamichhane has taken 55 wickets in the competition.
