IND vs PAK World Cup 2023: The Former PCB CEO said that Pakistan will also not play World Cup matches in India. India had refused to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming 2023 Asia Cup.

The match can be played at a neutral venue instead of India:-

International Cricket Council (ICC) general manager of cricket Wasim Khan believes that Pakistan can play its matches of the 2023 World Cup at a neutral venue instead of India (India vs Pakistan).

The Asia Cup was facing threats of a possible boycott from Pakistan, which has now forced India to consider a “hybrid model” for the tournament.

PCB said in an interview to a local TV channel:-

Under this proposed model, other teams would play their matches in Pakistan. While the Indian team would play their matches in another country.

“I don’t know whether it will happen in another country or not. But it is very likely to happen at a neutral venue.” the former PCB CEO said in an interview to a local TV channel.

Wasim Khan said, “I don’t think Pakistan will play its matches in India. I think their matches will also be at neutral venues like India’s Asia Cup matches.”

Asia Cup is likely to be Played in Pakistan:-

Before that, the Asia Cup is likely to be played in Pakistan. Whereas India’s matches will be held at some other venue.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, after the initial impasse. Both the BCCI and PCB are fast moving towards a proposal in which both the teams can play their tournament matches against each other outside Pakistan.

The overseas venue has not been confirmed but UAE, Oman, and Sri Lanka. And even England could host the Asia Cup tie between India and Pakistan.
