Wanindu Hasaranga Will Take Command Of Sri Lanka in T20 International
ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Wanindu Hasaranga will take command of Sri Lanka in T20 International. Sri Lanka Cricket Board has handed over T20 captaincy to Wanindu Hasaranga. From the new year, the all-rounder player will take charge of the team in the shortest format of the game.

Hasaranga was out of the team for a long time due to injury. At the same time, before the IPL 2024 auction, RCB had also released this player.

According to the report of Sports Pavilion, all-rounder Hasaranga has been made the captain of Sri Lanka in the T20 format. Due to injury, Hasaranga was not included in the squad for the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup this year.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board Did Not Officially Confirm The New Captain:-
He suffered an injury during the Lanka Premier League in August 2023. Since then he has been maintaining distance from the field. However, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has not officially confirmed the new captain.
The performance of the team captained by Dasun Shanaka in the ODI World Cup was very poor. The team had to face a big defeat against India.
Shanaka was removed from the captaincy only after the mega event. Whereas in the meantime the Sri Lanka Cricket Board was also suspended. This year the board has had to face a lot of crises.
This Year Has Not Been Good For Hasaranga Too:-
At the same time, this year has not been good for all-rounder player Hasaranga. However, in the mini auction held in Dubai, he was included in the team by Sunrisers Hyderabad at a base price of Rs 1.5 crore.
Hasaranga has played 58 T20 International matches for Sri Lanka. In which he took 91 wickets in 56 innings, while batting in 49 innings he also scored 533 runs. Meanwhile, he also has a half-century in his name.

Also, he took 4 wickets in 4 test matches and scored 196 runs while scoring 1 half-century. Hasaranga has taken 67 wickets in 47 innings of ODI and has scored 832 runs with the help of 4 half-centuries in 42 innings.
