Jason Gillespie does not want to be Australia’s coach after Justin Langer’s resignation.
“I am not putting myself up for any jobs, am fully committed to South Australian cricket. I’ve got a lot of work to do here and I’m absolutely loving it,” cricket.com.au quoted Gillespie as saying.
Gillespie, who currently coaches South Australia and is a former coach of English county teams Sussex and Yorkshire. He was seen as a possible replacement for Langer.

“I’m not preparing myself for anything,” Gillespie told reporters on Tuesday. “It’s nice to be thought of that way but it’s definitely something I’m not even thinking about for entertainment.”
Gillespie has contacted Langer, a former Test teammate. Langer resigned as Australia coach on Saturday.
Gillespie said, “Everyone has been very disappointed with how it all turned out. To be honest, it was very heartbreaking to watch.” “But unfortunately, it’s the same. Justin has handled himself very well. The decision is made and they make whatever decisions they make.”
“But I think everyone’s opinion is that things probably could have been handled better. He’s fine. He felt he had something to offer Australian cricket.

Justin will go on and success is with him, who will do what we all know he can do,” he said. “He has done a great job with Australian cricket over the last four years and we all wish him well as he will be successful in whatever he sets his mind to.”
Andrew McDonald has been named interim head coach and will lead the tour of Pakistan next month with the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka, over which he was already supposed to take charge. He will be at the forefront of a permanent role if he so desires.

Former England coach Trevor Bayliss, currently with Sydney Thunder, has also been roped in for the role.
CA CEO Nick Hockley said the decision not to offer Langer a longer extension – he declined the six-month offer – was because it felt the team needed to do something different in the future. The new coaching structure may see assistants, specialists and consultants play a bigger role with the head coach overseeing the operation and some tours and series are likely to be missed.
