Captain Rohit Sharma is all set to lead the Indian team in the Asia Cup 2022 starting from Saturday. India has to play its first match in the tournament against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. In this match, Rohit Sharma will have a chance to achieve a big achievement as a captain. Hitman Rohit is now just one win away from equaling former captain Virat Kohli’s record. Rohit has taken over the command of Team India this year as a full time captain.

Rohit Sharma has a chance to match Virat

In T20 International cricket, Virat has captained the Indian team in 50 matches and has won 30 matches out of them. Now Rohit is also just one victory away from equaling that record of Virat. Rohit Sharma has a chance to match Virat in the great match against Pakistan. While Virat has won 30 out of 50 matches in T20 International cricket, Rohit has a chance to register 30 wins in only 36 matches.

Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni holds the record of winning most matches as an Indian captain in T20 International cricket. Dhoni captained Team India in 72 matches, out of which he has won 41.

MS Dhoni: 41 wins in 72 matches

Virat Kohli: 30 wins in 50 matches

Rohit Sharma: 29 wins in 35 matches.
