“It Was Like A Dream Come True” – Todd Murphy Who Took Virat Kohli’s Wicket Had A Big Reaction

Veteran Indian batsman Virat Kohli has taken himself to a different level in world cricket with his performances. Bowlers all over the world dream of taking his wicket but only a few have got success. Australian off-spinner Todd Murphy got Kohli’s wicket in his debut Test and he described it as a dream come true. He took five wickets in an innings in the debut test and joined the special list of bowlers who have done this feat.

Virat Kohli came out to bat after the wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara in the 45th over of the Indian innings on the second day of the match. He played some good shots and did not lose his wicket till lunch. However, on the very first ball of the second session, Kohli was caught out on a personal score of 12 runs. The ball going outside the leg stump edged his bat and was caught by Alex Carey behind the wicket. In this way, Murphy took the wicket of the Indian veteran. The young spinner bowled nine maiden overs in 36 overs, conceding 82 runs and taking five batsmen as his victims.

After the second day’s play, when the Australian spinner was asked which wicket he enjoyed the most, he mentioned Virat Kohli’s wicket. Murphy said,

Who got Virat out. It was not my best ball of the day. Getting the wicket of Virat Kohli was a dream come true for me. I saw him for a long time. He is a hero to so many people, this will always be with me. Coming into the match, I was expecting at least one wicket. To end the day with five players on debut is a special day. It’s been an amazing week, it’s all happened so fast
