Kamran Akmal was dropped from the team for the eighth season of the tournament by Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Jalmi. Akmal spoke to the media and informed about his decision. Akmal said, ‘It is certain that I will no longer be able to play cricket due to new roles in PCB. I don’t think when you come into coaching or become a national selector, you can focus on playing. ‘

However, Akmal also said that he will try to play in the small league, but it will depend on his responsibility. 41 -year -old Akmal said, “I will play in the small league, but will depend on the new responsibility I got by PCB.”

Kamran Akmal represented Pakistan for a long time at the international level. Akmal scored 2648 runs in 53 Tests with the help of 6 centuries and 12 half -centuries. His average was 30.79. Kamran Akmal scored 3236 runs in 157 ODIs with the help of 5 centuries and 10 half -centuries. His average was 26.09. Akmal scored 987 runs in 58 T20 international matches with the help of five half -centuries.

During this, Kamran Akmal praised the current captain of Pakistan Babar Azam.
