Paul Stirling Record: Ireland’s star opener Paul Stirling has created history. He has become the first Irishman and the fourth player in the world to cross the 3000-run mark in T20Is. Paul Stirling completed his 3000 runs in T20 Internationals after scoring five runs in the last match against Afghanistan. Before Paul, only New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and India’s star batsman Virat Kohli have been able to cross the 3000 runs mark in T20.

Most runs for Aarland in T20Is

The 31-year-old right-handed batsman is the only cricketer from Ireland to have scored more than 2000 runs in T20Is. He is followed by Kevin O’Brien, who has scored 1973 runs. O’Brien retired this week, saying goodbye to his 16-year international career.

Paul Stirling made his T20I debut in 2009

Paul Stirling has been one of Ireland’s leading players ever since his debut in T20 Internationals in 2009. He has played 114 matches so far in his career of 13 years and has scored 3011 runs at an average of 28.67 and strike rate of 134.84. He has 20 half-centuries and one century in his account.

Guptill has scored the most runs

Let us tell you that the record of scoring the most runs in T20Is is currently held by New Zealand’s Martin Guptill. He has scored 3497 runs in 121 matches so far. However, second-placed Indian captain Rohit Sharma is only 10 runs behind him. Rohit has 3487 runs in 132 matches. While Virat Kohli is in third place with 3308 runs in 99 matches.
