Bangladesh vs Ireland: Bangladesh Won by Duckworth-Lewis Rule in First T20, Recorded Fourth Consecutive Win Over Ireland

Bangladesh started with a win in the three T20 series against Ireland. He won the first match played on Monday (March 27) in Chittagong by 22 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method. This is Bangladesh’s fourth consecutive win over Ireland. There have been six matches between the two so far. Bangladesh won four and Ireland one match. One match did not result.

In a rain-affected match, Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl first. Bangladesh scored 207 runs for five wickets in 19.2 overs. Ireland got a revised target of 104 runs in eight overs but the team could only manage 81 runs for five wickets.

Ronnie Talukdar Scored his First Half-Century for Bangladesh

Ronnie Talukdar scored the first half-century for Bangladesh. Talukdar scored 67 off 38 balls. He hit seven fours and three sixes in his innings. Liton Das scored 47 off 23 balls. During this, four fours and three sixes were hit. Talukdar and Liton Das put on 81 runs in the powerplay for the first wicket. By doing so, he left behind his previous record of 74 runs (vs Sri Lanka 2018).

Shamim Hussain scored 30 runs off 20 balls. Captain Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten after scoring 20 runs off 13 balls. Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 14 and Tauhid Hossain contributed 13 runs. Mehdi Hasan Miraj remained unbeaten after scoring four runs. Craig Young took two wickets for Ireland. Harry Tector, Mark Adair and Graham Hume got one success each.
