Then 2017 proved to be the real opening year of his career. This year he played 13 matches for Mumbai Indians and scored 333 runs in 12 innings at an average of 30.27 and a strike rate of 126.13. This season he had 3 half-centuries to his name and was instrumental in making Mumbai the champion for the third time.

Suryakumar Yadav Came to Mumbai from KKR and Nitish Rana Moved to KKR From Mumbai

Actually this was the trade in which Suryakumar Yadav came from KKR to Mumbai and Nitish Rana moved from Mumbai to KKR. From here the fortunes of both Surya and Nitish changed colors. He also bowls occasionally. He has taken 7 wickets which he took 4 in 2018 and 3 in 2017. He also got a chance for ODI and T20 debut in 2021 for India. But he could not take advantage of it. He scored 7 runs in one ODI. At the same time, he could score only 9 runs in two T20 International innings.
