New Delhi: IPL 2022 is now reaching an exciting turning point. There was a tough competition in both the matches of IPL played in Mumbai on Saturday. Mumbai Indians are disappointed with their sixth consecutive defeat, while RCB have made their place in the top 4 by winning the last over. Due to the stormy innings of Dinesh Karthik from RCB, he was awarded the man of the match. Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed shared an unmatched partnership of 97 runs. Karthik has also knocked on the door of the Indian T20 team by playing an unbeaten 66.

After the match, wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik said that he wants to do something special for the country and hence is trying his best to make a comeback in the Indian team. Karthik, who was the hero of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s 16-run win over Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, said after the match, ‘I have set big goals. I am working really hard to achieve them.

Karthik played a stormy innings

Man of the match Karthik said, ‘My aim is to do something special for the country. This is part of my journey. I am doing everything possible to be a part of the Indian team. It is good to know that people consider me to be calm. Karthik scored an unbeaten 66 and Shahbaz made an unbeaten 32. Apart from these, Glenn Maxwell played an innings of 55 runs as RCB scored 189 for five despite the top order faltering.

Du Plessis said after the match, ‘It is important for the top order that we contribute by scoring runs. Our top order didn’t work but other batsmen contributed. It was difficult to bat initially but the way Maxwell put the pressure back on him was important. But it required a special innings to reach 190 and the credit goes to the two players Shahbaz and Dinesh Karthik.

What did Delhi captain Pant say?

Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant said the team will have to improve its batting in the middle overs but did not blame Mitchell Marsh who was struggling to score runs. Pant said, ‘Warner batted very well and gave us full chances to win. We could have batted better in the middle overs. Can’t blame Marsh as it was his first match. He said, ‘Our bowlers bowled according to the strategy but Dinesh Karthik messed up the equation in the last over. We have to learn from our mistakes.
